We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to take ownership of backend development and technical direction across several products.

This is a hands-on leadership role, combining software development, architecture, technology decisions and people management. You will work closely with product stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions and help define the engineering roadmap.

The products are already live, but the engineering function is evolving. You will have the opportunity to establish common standards, processes and best practices, while helping shape new products and technical solutions.

Responsibilities

- Lead backend development and technical direction across multiple products.
- Design and implement scalable backend solutions and new features.
- Own and evolve the technology stack and architecture.
- Manage and mentor a small backend team while remaining hands-on.
- Establish engineering standards, processes and best practices.
- Work closely with product stakeholders and translate business needs into technical solutions.




- Identify opportunities to integrate AI and automation into products and workflows.
- Contribute to the future growth of the engineering team.

Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on backend development experience, ideally across multiple products.
- Previous technical leadership or people management experience.
- Strong architecture and system design skills.
- Experience with Kotlin and/or Python and cloud technologies, ideally AWS.
- Comfortable making technology and architectural decisions.
- Experience establishing or improving engineering processes.
- Interest in AI, automation and AI-powered products.
- Professional fluency in English and Spanish.

Nice to Have
- Experience scaling a small engineering team.
- Experience working across multiple products.
- Background in AI-powered workflow automation.
- Knowledge of React, LangGraph or Snowflake.
- Frontend experience and ability to collaborate autonomously with frontend teams.
