Northernlight Insurance and Surety Company is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee the company's accounting operations and help strengthen its accounting processes and controls.

This is a hands-on position requiring strong QuickBooks Online (QBO) expertise and the ability to manage the full accounting cycle independently. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for day-to-day accounting, month-end close, financial reporting, and oversight of one team member responsible primarily for invoicing.

The successful candidate will also play an important role in evaluating existing accounting practices, refining workflows, and establishing new processes and controls where appropriate.

Manage the full accounting cycle within QuickBooks Online (QBO)Lead the month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and review of financial resultsMaintain the general ledger and financial records in accordance with IFRSOversee Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), invoicing, collections, and payment processesPerform and review bank, balance sheet,



and other account reconciliationsReview existing accounting processes and implement improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and consistencyDevelop and document accounting procedures, workflows, and internal controls as neededSupervise and manage one accounting team member responsible primarily for invoicingPrepare and support management reporting and financial analysisCoordinate with external accountants, auditors, tax advisors, and other professional partners as required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting requiredMinimum 10 years of professional accounting experienceAdvanced xqziphu proficiency with QuickBooks Online (QBO)Demonstrated experience managing the full accounting cycle and month-end closeExperience developing and improving accounting processes and internal controlsPrior experience supervising or managing accounting staffFull-time contracted positionWe are looking for a seasoned accounting professional who is comfortable being hands-on with the day-to-day accounting while also improving the processes behind it.
