ROLE
Subsea Telecoms Cable Engineer is responsible for supporting planning and engineering, installation, protection, testing, commissioning, operation and maintenance of submarine fibre-optic cable systems. The role covers technical input across the full project lifecycle, from feasibility and route development through to marine survey, system design, manufacturing support, installation, acceptance and operational readiness.
The engineer acts as a technical interface between the project owner, system supplier, marine installation contractor, permitting advisors, landing partners, cable landing station teams, network operators and other stakeholders.

Requirements
Experience in submarine telecoms cable systems, offshore cable projects or related marine infrastructure.
Understanding of fibre-optic cable systems, repeatered systems, branching units, power feeding and landing infrastructure.
Knowledge of marine survey, route engineering, cable burial and cable protection techniques.
Familiarity with offshore installation methods, marine operations and vessel-based activities.
Understanding of cable crossings, third-party interface management and marine permitting processes.
Strong contractor management, problem-solving and technical coordination skills.
Ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly to commercial, legal, regulatory and management teams.
Experience with risk management, technical documentation and project reporting.
