Assembly and alignment of a testbed for an underwater optical communication system in a water tank. Integration of all optical devices within the water tank.
Characterization of the laboratory tank under different operating conditions, simulating various marine environment conditions.
Implementation of OOK optical transmission tests using different receivers, APDs and PMTs. Testing at different wavelengths.
Implementation of a twin setup at Navantia facilities in Madrid, commissioning of the system, and incorporation of improvements with respect to the initial setup developed in Vigo.
Design of an integrated photonic chip system capable of meeting the requirements and operating conditions derived from the laboratory experimental results.

Specific Requirements
Item 01: Academic training. Professional experience (punctuation: 20)
Item 02: Knowledge of languages (Spanish and English language skills applied in a professional setting will be an advantage) (punctuation: 10)
Item 03: Knowledge of programming in Python, C, and microcontrollers. Experience with software tools such as ADS, PSpice,
and OrCAD (punctuation: 35)
Item 04: Experience in optical characterization, test-bench setup, data analysis, fabrication/cleanroom work, technical communication, autonomy, proactivity and ability to collaborate in international teams (punctuation: 25)
Item 05: Personal interview (assessment of technical fit for the role, ability to explain relevant PIC design/simulation experience, problem-solving approach, work organisation and motivation to contribute to PIXEurope). The interview will be conducted only with those 3 candidates who, in the sum of the merits, reach a minimum of 50 points (punctuation: 10)
