Job Description

This Resource Float Pool RN will support our ICU service lines. Candidates should have experience caring for critically ill patients and be comfortable floating between multiple ICU environments. Resource Float Pool RNs may also be asked to support other areas throughout the hospital based on patient care and staffing needs.

The Christ Hospital has three ICU specialties at our main Auburn Avenue campus, each offering unique patient populations and experiences:
- CVICU (28 beds): Focuses on high-acuity cardiovascular patients, including open heart surgery, heart transplants, ventricular assist devices, ECMO, Impellas, and advanced heart failure patients.
- SICU (14 beds): Cares for a diverse surgical population including neurology, neurosurgery, vascular, transplant, general surgery, and OB/GYN surgical patients.
- MICU (20 beds): Provides care for critically ill medical patients with diagnoses such as sepsis, respiratory failure, GI bleeds, heart failure, renal failure, and multi-organ dysfunction.

All three ICUs emphasize teamwork, evidence-based practice,



advanced critical care skills, exceptional patient outcomes, and strong interdisciplinary support.

The practice of nursing requires specialized knowledge, judgment, and skills to provide care to groups and individuals. The RN utilizes knowledge derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. All care is provided based on the concepts inherent in the model of care for TCH which promotes an on-going partnership between patients and families and the team of healthcare providers. The care is culturally based and age specific. The RN adheres to American Nursing Association (ANA) code of ethics and to the scope of practice described in the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.
