VHIR offers a vacant position for a Research Technician with a background in genetics and bioinformatics to work on NGS data analysis and interpretation. The researcher will join the multidisciplinary team of the Infection and Immunity in Paediatric Patients Research Group, focusing on high-throughput data from patients with immune and hematologic disorders.
Main responsibilities and duties:
- Perform NGS analysis from Fastq to VCF file on gene panels, WES, short and long read WGS
- Manage internal databases (raw data and metadata)
- Perform data interpretation following standardised criteria
- Perform advanced genetic analysis from raw data (CNV variant calling, somatic variant calling, etc)
Education and qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biosciences (Biology, Biomedicine, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Human Biology, Genetics, etc).
- Master Degree related with Bioinformatics, Genetics, Omics or similar
- Fluency in Catalan, Spanish and English
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
- Experience working with management and analysis of NGS data (bash, R, MySQL, etc)




- Knowledge of interpretation of NGS data
- Knowledge in biostatistics
Desirable:
- Previous experience in the field of genetic studies in a clinical setting

Labour conditions:
- Working hours: Full-time (37,5 hours per week).
- Starting date: As soon as possible.
- Gross annual salary: 28.187,54€
- Contract type: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to project activities
