About the Role:
iPronics is seeking a Director of Photonics Test Engineering & Manufacturing Validation to lead the strategy, development, and execution of test solutions for our programmable photonic integrated circuits (PICs), modules, and systems.
This role will drive testing activities from engineering characterization through production release, ensuring high product quality, manufacturing yield, reliability, and scalable production readiness. You will work closely with Design, Product, Operations, and Manufacturing teams to bring innovative photonic products from development into volume production.
Key Responsibilities:
Test Strategy & Product Validation
Define and execute the end-to-end test strategy across characterization, validation, qualification, and production.
Lead Engineering, Design, System, and Production Verification Testing (EVT/DVT/SVT/PVT).
Establish robust test methodologies, coverage metrics, and qualification procedures.
Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and manufacturing ramp activities.
Manufacturing Test & Yield Improvement
Develop scalable test solutions for wafer-level, module-level, and system-level production testing.
Drive yield improvement, root-cause analysis, and failure investigations.
Optimize test coverage, test time, production throughput, and cost of test.
Implement data-driven approaches for yield learning, process control, and continuous improvement.
Test Automation & Infrastructure
Lead the development of automated test platforms, software tools, and data analysis frameworks.
Oversee test hardware including probe stations, fixtures, interface boards, and reliability setups.
Ensure measurement accuracy, traceability, and scalability across manufacturing operations.
Cross-Functional Leadership
Partner with PIC Design, Hardware, Software, Product Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and external manufacturing partners.
