Whatwill you do?:
- Disease resistance screening. Under the guidance of your manager, you will be:
- Responsible for planning all disease resistance screening tests.
- Responsible for the execution of disease resistance tests requested, with validated protocols and with respect of the deadline.
- Responsible for the maintenance of a viable plant pathogen and pest collection for specified crops.
- To update periodically data on computer files and share results with defined person.
- Ensure that all controls respond correctly.
- Optimize and implement new or existing disease resistance screening protocols.
- Coordinate some day-to-day routine activities for laboratory technicians (if requested by the manager).
- Diagnostics
- Responsible for internal diagnostic work to identify plant pathogens or follow-up external diagnostic work.
- Seed Health




- Responsible for performing internal seed health tests to detect plant pathogens or follow up external seed health tests.
- Phytosanitary risk management
- Participate in field inspection as described in the quality management system documentation to identify and eliminate risks associated with pests and plant pathogens.
- To report the observations to the relevant parties and to ensure that corrective and preventive actions are taken.
- Laboratory and greenhouse routines
- Maintain hygiene standards in the laboratory, pathology greenhouses and phytotrons.
- Ensure that there is a sufficient quantity and quality of laboratory consumables available for routine tasks.
- Preparation of media, buffers and solutions.
- Monitor the good functioning of laboratory equipment and inform your line manager in case of deviation.
- Breeding software
- Using Phenome breeding software to store, plan and execute all aspects of disease resistance screening trials.
