ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for enthusiastic, outgoing Food Tour Guides to lead group food tours in Madrid. This is a freelance, flexible role ideal for people who love Madrid’s food scene, history, and culture, and enjoy speaking in front of groups.

You’ll guide groups of up to 15 guests on 4-hour food tours, visiting four local venues while delivering engaging, entertaining commentary about the food and surrounding neighborhoods. A detailed script and training will be provided, so prior tour guide experience is welcome but not required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead food tours in Madrid lasting approximately 4 hours
- Guide groups of up to 15 guests between 4 food venues
- Deliver engaging, informative, and entertaining commentary on Madrid’s food culture and local history and neighbourhoods
- Provide excellent, attentive customer service throughout the tour
- Manage group dynamics and timing professionally




- Represent the company with energy, warmth, and professionalism
- Follow the provided script while adding your own personality and presence

REQUIREMENTS:
- Fluent / near-native English (essential)
- Spanish at medium level or higher (able to communicate with venues and locals)
- Passion for Madrid, its history, and its food scene
- Comfortable speaking in front of large groups
- Previous public speaking or presentation experience
- Highly sociable, confident, and personable
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- Willingness to learn and receive feedback
- Must be able to register and work as self-employed (autónomo) in Spain
- Extra languages are a plus but not required

NICE TO HAVE (BUT NOT REQUIRED)
- Previous tour guide or hospitality experience
- Background in food, wine, gastronomy, or culture
- Experience working with international clients or tourists
