KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Planning, Evaluation and the Whole School Development Plan (WSDP)
- Help set an ambitious vision for the future of the school, seeing past what is currently in place
- Effectively evaluative all aspects of the school through various Quality Assurance strategies and identify areas for further development
- Critically draw on past experience,



research and the ideas of others to devise imaginative strategies which do have a demonstrable positive impact on the school
- Objectively evaluate the impact of initiatives and decisions and feedback into the WSDP
- Understand the context in which school improvement takes place and live with the complexity that this brings

Curriculum Teaching, Learning and Assessment and Student Progress
- Oversee the development and implementation of the curriculum
- Oversee the standard of teaching, learning and assessment in the secondary school
- Oversee the raising of academic progress of all students in the secondary school

Leadership and management
- Follow through on agreed plans and implement significant institutional change, leading others and working within competing constraints and objectives
- Plan the distribution of resources across the secondary school, including timetabling staff and physical spaces
- Maintain high expectations of others and rigorously hold them accountable
