Functional Job Summary:
Monitor, process, report and document a variety of transactions including but not limited to suspense, adjustments, premium receipt, invoicing, deduction requests, and delinquencies for customers. Coordinate with other business areas to ensure accurate premium processing, reporting, billing, and fee disclosure. Perform thorough in-depth research as needed in support of reconciliations and adjustments of premium. Manage delinquency process and own customer interactions.
Mitigates financial risk by drafting legally defensible contract via amendment process for all levels of complexity across all States. Analyze amendment submission materials to match provisional intent; discusses policy provisions to enhance customer experience.
Proactively communicates sensitive and/or confidential contractual and billing information, as well as providing solutions in a clear and effective manner to employers, producers, third party administrators, field and home office staff based on Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), federal regulations, contractual provisions, and other related policy information.
Responsible for alignment with PAS Program goals, values, and vision. This position is part of the new Policy Administration System (PAS) Program. As the PAS Program is evolving, there is a requirement for employees to have the ability to flex and adjust with each evolution. This role will provide suggestions for improvements to the new system/processes and engage in future releases.
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience. 1 - 3 years work experience in group employee benefits administration, complex billing administration, premium management.
Knowledge & Skills:
Requires thorough knowledge of group benefits product offerings. Ability to work with all levels of complexity and bring an understanding of how to administer plan provisions, rate structures, premium calculations, bill offerings, and delinquency processing. Must be strategic and resourceful. Demonstrated ability in problem solving customer issues at all levels of complexity.
Autonomy: Plans and schedules own work and requires limited direction. Complex work may require engagement and input from multiple roles companywide for desired output. Assists with development of cross-organization knowledge sharing.
Problem Solving: Brings voice of customer forward and solve for the customer experience first in every decision. Collaborates with teammates to create a customer-first structure that enables new ways of working and facilitates clear lines of accountability that minimize customer-handoffs. Takes ownership of continuous improvement efforts to improve processes and solve problems. Escalates problems as appropriate.
Interpersonal Skills: Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong planning, prioritizing, decision-making, and organization skills. Energy and passion for teamwork and collaboration in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
