Role Description The Head Engineer at CoreFi is a full-time remote role responsible for leading the technical vision, architecture, and delivery of our cloud-native core banking platform. In this role, the Head Engineer oversees engineering teams, defines scalable and secure system architectures, and ensures reliable integration of microservices, AI components, and financial workflows. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing the engineering roadmap, reviewing and contributing to code, guiding DevOps and infrastructure decisions, and collaborating with product, compliance,



and operations teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.

The Head

Engineer also establishes best practices for software development, security, and quality assurance, mentors engineering talent, and drives continuous improvement in performance, reliability, and observability. This position plays a key role in maintaining regulatory-grade standards while innovating at the intersection of AI, cloud infrastructure, and financial services.

Qualifications

- Strong background in software engineering and architecture, with experience designing and implementing cloud-native, microservice-based systems.
- Hands-on experience with backend development technologies (e.g., modern programming languages such as Java, Kotlin, Go, or Python; REST/GraphQL APIs; event-driven architectures).
- Proficiency with cloud platforms and DevOps practices, including containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and observability tools.
- Experience building secure and compliant financial or enterprise systems, with familiarity in data security, access control, auditability, and regulatory environments (e.g., KYC/AML, PSD2, GDPR).
- Knowledge of AI/automation concepts and their application in financial workflows, including orchestration of AI agents, rule engines, and human-in-the-loop oversight.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing engineering teams, setting technical direction, mentoring developers, and collaborating effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
