What if your patterns were raced at the highest level of cycling? Ours are. Belgian performance apparel since 1986, wind tunnel-tested and worn by Belgian Cycling and Team TotalEnergies. Come and build it.
Why are we opening this role
You are the technical owner of the product, from first prototype to production handover. Design gives you the intent. You make it real. Patterns that work on the bike. Materials that hold. A cost that stands up.
This is not coordination work. Expect to question solutions and find better ones. Welcome to Bioracer, The Most Tested.
What you'll own
- Technical translation
Concept to specification. Construction, materials, fit, manufacturability, and cost resolved before anyone cuts fabric.
- Materials and components
Aero, waterproof, thermal, high-stretch, compressive. Elongation, recovery, stability. Grippers, transfers, bonded elements, membranes.
- Pattern, fit, and construction
Live fitting sessions. Garments judged under tension and in the riding position, not on a hanger. Flatlock, bonded seams, taping, laser cutting, ultrasonic welding, seamless.
- Tech Packs and BOMs
Measurements, tolerances, trims, colours, version control. Complete and production-ready before handover.
- Prototypes and validation
Sample rounds, Size Sets, grading, SMS. Deviations found early and corrected.
- Cost and viability
Cost drivers identified during development. Innovation that scales.
- Suppliers and timeline
Primary technical contact for suppliers and production locations. Milestones owned. Risks flagged before they become delays.
What you bring
Essential:
- Three to five years or more in technical apparel product development
- You engineer patterns,
read construction, and lead technical fittings
- Performance fabrics hold no surprises for you, nor does the way pattern, fabric, and construction interact
- Tech Packs, BOMs, and measurement charts are yours to build and maintain in a PLM system
- Adobe Illustrator and advanced Excel are part of your daily work
- You communicate clearly in written and spoken English, Dutch is a plus.
- Monthly travel to production sites suits you
Valued:
- Cycling apparel or high-performance sportswear on your CV
- You have developed compression or aerodynamic products
- CLO3D or a comparable digital pattern tool
- You understand on-bike position and what it demands of a garment
What you can expect
- A good place to work. A close-knit, driven product team. Small enough that your concept does not get diluted on its way to the factory, and you see the finished garment on a rider.
- Sport in the building. Colleagues who ride, race, and argue about millimetres. Customers who do the same. The love of the sport is shared daily, in both directions.
- Stability and growth. A full-time permanent contract.
- Pay. A market-rate salary, matched to your experience and skills.
- Location. An easily accessible office in the Tessenderlo-Ham region.
Why Bioracer
Raymond Vanstraelen founded us in 1986 on one rule: The Most Tested. So your patterns go to the ProtoLab, then the Flemish cobbles. What holds up ends on Olympic champions and on riders racing their mates on a Sunday.
Forty years in. Still accelerating.
