About the Role

We are looking for a hands‑on Tech Lead / Engineering Lead to join a new fintech venture launching in Spain, backed by the solid financial and operational foundation of a major international group. This is a key opportunity to shape the technology platform from the ground up, owning technical delivery, architectural integrity and engineering quality as the product evolves from MVP to a scalable, high-load platform .

The role combines technical leadership, architecture and hands‑on software engineering , working closely with Product, Architecture and both internal and external development teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Technical Leadership & Delivery: Lead internal developers and external contractors, setting priorities, managing dependencies, timelines and quality, and ensuring predictable delivery.

- Architecture & Engineering Quality: Ensure adherence to architectural decisions, conduct technical reviews, manage technical debt and establish engineering standards across code, testing, security and deployment.

- Hands‑on Development: Remain technically involved through complex code reviews, prototypes and production development when required to unblock the team or reduce technical risk.

- External Team Management: Oversee external development partners, ensuring transparency, knowledge transfer, code ownership and minimization of vendor dependency.

- SDLC & Operations: Establish and improve CI/CD, Definition of Done, release management, observability and incident/root-cause processes.

- Scalability & Resilience: Design and oversee distributed systems capable of supporting high loads, with a strong focus on fault tolerance, security, observability and disaster recovery.

- Team Building:



Participate in hiring and progressively build the internal engineering team as the platform and business scale.

Requirements

- Level: Senior Software Engineer / Tech Lead / Development Lead with strong hands‑on experience and proven ownership of architecture and delivery.

- Experience: 8+ years in software development, including at least 3 years in a technical leadership role.

- Go Expertise: Strong production experience with Go/Golang is mandatory. Candidates must be comfortable developing and reviewing production Go code, including concurrency, context management, resource control and testing.

- Architecture: Strong experience with distributed systems, microservices, fault tolerance and synchronous/asynchronous communication.

- Backend & APIs: Experience with gRPC/Protobuf, REST/OpenAPI , API versioning, authentication, retries and idempotency.

- Cloud & Infrastructure: Production experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform/IaC and CI/CD/GitOps .

- Data & Messaging: Strong PostgreSQL knowledge and experience with event‑driven architectures, Kafka or equivalent , messaging and workflow patterns.

- Security & Observability: Good understanding of OAuth2/OIDC, IAM/RBAC, secrets management, secure SDLC and modern observability practices such as OpenTelemetry, metrics, logs and traces.

- Industry: Experience in fintech, banking, payments or other regulated environments is strongly preferred.

- Leadership: Proven experience managing both internal engineers and external development teams, with the ability to challenge deliverables and maintain high technical standards.

- Mindset: Pragmatic, hands‑on and comfortable working in a greenfield environment, balancing technical excellence, scalability, security and speed of delivery.

- Languages: Strong technical English (B2+). Spanish is a plus.

Target Technology Stack

Experience with Keycloak, Vault, Temporal, Camunda or React/Next.js is a plus.
