We are looking for a candidate that holds a PhD and strong hands‑on experience to lead the development of next‑generation microfluidic platforms for cell biology, biomedical analysis, cell sorting, and laboratory automation.

This position combines scientific and technical leadership, project‑management capabilities, and practical experience in the fabrication, integration, and validation of microfluidic devices.

Key requirements:

- PhD in Biotechnology, Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Micro/Nanotechnology, Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in microfluidics and lab‑on‑a‑chip development.
- Experience with photolithography and fabrication of SU-8 master molds on silicon wafers.
- Experience fabricating and assembling microfluidic chips in rigid polymers, preferably cyclic olefin copolymer (COC).
- Experience integrating electrodes and/or sensors into microfluidic devices.
- Experience in the functional validation and characterization of microfluidic devices.
- Ability to lead R&D; activities, coordinate internal and external collaborators, and contribute to the preparation of R&D; project proposals.




- Professional technical and scientific English skills.

Experience in one or more of the following areas will be highly valued:

- Cell biology and cell-based assays.
- Electrical impedance sensing.
- Dielectrophoresis and electrokinetic cell manipulation.
- Optical and fluorescence-based detection.
- Electronics, instrumentation, PCB design, or signal acquisition.
- CAD design, rapid prototyping, and additive manufacturing.
- Product development and design-for-manufacturing.
- Competitive R&D; funding proposals and collaborative projects.
- Scientific publications, patents, technology transfer, or intellectual-property development.

Location: Vigo, Spain — hybrid working model

Start date: Between October and February
