Design Manager Barcelona
Salter Grange is recruiting on behalf of a growing design and build contractor delivering a new data centre project in Barcelona.

We are seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead multidisciplinary design teams from project inception through to construction and handover. This role requires a proactive leader with strong technical expertise, commercial awareness, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders within fast-paced project environments. This role is currently in the pre-construction stage and needs a Spanish speaker to help drive it forward.

Design Manager Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the design process throughout all project phases, from concept through detailed design, construction, and commissioning.
Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams including architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, and specialist consultants.
Develop and manage design programmes aligned with overall project delivery schedules.
Review design deliverables to ensure compliance with client requirements, project specifications,



applicable European standards and local regulations.
Collaborate closely with project managers, commercial teams, procurement and site operations to ensure design intent is maintained throughout construction.
Manage design risk registers, technical queries, Requests for Information (RFIs) and design change processes.
Support value engineering initiatives while maintaining project quality and performance standards.

Design Manager Requirements
~5+ years of experience in design management, engineering, or project delivery within the construction industry.
~ Experience on large-scale projects, ideally within data centres, mission-critical, pharmaceutical or industrial sectors.
~ Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical building services systems.
~ Experience working within BIM environments, including Autodesk Revit and common data environments.
