CIR DOMUS Predoctoral Fellowship: The UNIJES CIR for Environment and Ecology launches the DOMUS project
The UNIJES Reference Research Centre (CIR) for Environment and Ecology is launching a call for
applications for the selection of a predoctoral candidate from the UNIJES university centres to
undertake a doctoral thesis within the framework of the DOMUS project, funded through a three-year
predoctoral contract. The doctoral thesis project will be developed at any of the UNIJES universities or university centres, under the coordination of the CIR for Environment and Ecology.
This call is open to predoctoral candidates, as well as researchers from UNIJES university centres who
may act as thesis supervisors. The doctoral thesis will be co-supervised by Dr Cristina Alonso Alija, IQS, and Director of the CIR for Environment and Ecology.
PROPOSAL
The DOMUS project seeks to combine academic excellence and social impact by generating knowledge that can be published in areas such as community sustainability, environmental behavioural change, service-learning, participatory research,
and information systems for sustainability. At the same time, it aims to produce tools, indicators, and support processes that can be used by communities and institutions to advance the Care for Our Common Home.
DOMUS is not merely an environmental measurement project, but rather research into how
communities learn, organise themselves, and transform their environmental practices when they have
access to self-assessment tools, support, structured data, and spaces for collective reflection.
The project aims to make an original contribution to knowledge in the field of community sustainability
through:
the development and validation of an adaptive environmental self-assessment model;
the integration of Service-Learning (SL) in non-formal contexts;
the analysis of behavioural change mechanisms in communities.
This research is expected to contribute to advancing the state of the art in:
