- We are currently looking for a Design Engineer – Photovoltaic Structures to join our engineering team in Madrid.

The Design Engineer will be responsible for the structural design, calculation and technical analysis of photovoltaic mounting structures, including solar trackers and fixed-tilt systems for ground-mounted solar plants.

The role involves structural calculations, finite element analysis, CAD design, project-specific technical adaptation and engineering support throughout different stages of solar projects.

The successful candidate should have a strong engineering background and be capable of working with international design standards, particularly those applicable in Europe,and South America.

Engineering Activities

1. Perform structural calculations and engineering analysis for solar tracker and fixed-tilt mounting systems.
2. Develop and analyze finite element models (FEM) to verify structural performance and optimize designs.
3. Use 3D CAD and engineering software to develop and validate structural solutions.
4. Ensure structural designs comply with applicable international and local standards.
5. Perform photovoltaic plant layout verification from a structural and engineering perspective.
6.



Adapt structural calculations and designs according to local regulations and project-specific requirements.
7. Interpret and apply wind tunnel test results and wind loads to structural calculations.
8. Develop, improve and maintain engineering tools, calculation methodologies and internal design processes.

R&D; Activities

1. Participate in the design, calculation and development of new photovoltaic mounting products.
2. Support prototype assembly and testing activities.
3. Assist with testing activities at university or external testing facilities.
4. Support the installation and testing of electrical and control systems when required for R&D; projects.
5. Analyze testing results and contribute to product improvement and optimization.

Technical and Commercial Support

1. Provide technical support to internal departments, clients, EPC companies and business partners.
2. Support the preparation of technical solutions for project quotations and tenders.
3. Assist the sales and project teams with structural and engineering-related questions.
4. Coordinate and prioritize engineering workloads according to project requirements.

Field Support

1. Occasionally visit photovoltaic plant sites to provide engineering and technical support.
2.



Assist with the supervision of installation and commissioning activities.
3. Support troubleshooting of structural or installation-related issues on site.

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the solar tracker or photovoltaic mounting industry, or at least 3 years of relevant experience in a similar structural engineering industry.
- Experience with 3D CAD software.
- Experience with finite element analysis software; ANSYS experience is highly preferred.
- Good understanding of structural mechanics and engineering calculation principles.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and engineering standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated, responsible and able to work effectively within an international team.
- Fluent English, both written and spoken.
- Ability to work 100% on-site at our Madrid office.

Preferred Qualifications

- Previous experience in the photovoltaic mounting system, solar tracker or renewable energy industry.
- Knowledge of European structural design standards and international engineering codes.
- Experience working on international photovoltaic projects.
- Italian language skills are preferred.
- Chinese language skills are preferred.
- Candidates who speak Italian and/or Chinese in addition to English will be given preference.
