About Crag
CRAG is an independent research institution engaged in leading-edge basic and applied plant and farm animal sciences. CRAG is established as a Consortium of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), Institute of Agrifood Research and Technology (IRTA), Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), and University of Barcelona (UB). The Center is located at the UAB Campus, and currently hosts 200 members from across the world.
Research Programs at CRAG (from basic science to applied research using plant experimental model systems, crops and farm animals) make extensive use of genomic technologies and large sets of genetic and genomic data (https://www.cragenomica.es/sites/default/files/2022-07/crag-summary-2020-2021_0.pdf).
Responsibilities The Center for Research in Agricultural Genomics (CRAG) is looking for a Postgraduate to be part of the group Bacterial plant diseases and plant proteostasis.
The Candidate Will Be In Charge Of
- Define and execute research activities focused on plant molecular biology, gene function characterization and cellular imaging.
- Establish and optimize protocols for molecular cloning and confocal microscopy experiments.
- Drive the evolution of the workplace by implementing innovative imaging and data analysis approaches.
- Manage and coordinate experimental workflows, data collection and research documentation.
Requirements Degree in Plant Biology,
Biotechnology or Molecular Biology > 2 years of experience in plant molecular biology, microscopy and laboratory research.
The Following Will Be Positively Valued
- Certifications inadvanced microscopy techniques.
- Experience in confocal microscopy, protein localization studies and plant transformation.
- Knowledge of plant genetics, cell biology, image analysis and statistical data processing.
Skills
- Advanced level of English.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Communication skills and user training abilities.
- Proactive and continuous improvement-oriented mindset.
- Ability to coordinate and work within a technical team.
