Act as the site focal point for Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) performance, compliance, and lifecycle management.
Lead the design, validation, testing, and periodic verification of SIS in alignment with IEC 61511 standards.
Define, configure, maintain, and improve control system safety interlocks and automation systems.
Support troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and reliability improvements for instrumentation and control systems.
Contribute to electrical safety programs, including LOTO, energy isolation, arc flash management, and safe work procedures.
Support and lead instrumentation and control activities for capital and continuous improvement projects.
Participate in process safety activities such as HAZOPs, LOPAs, SIL assessments, and risk analyses.
Ensure all control system modifications are managed through the Management of Change (MOC) process.
Collaborate with operations,
maintenance, EHS, project teams, and contractors to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Industrial, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering.
Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial environments such as chemical, pharmaceutical, or related industries.
Proven experience with instrumentation and control systems, including DCS and PLC platforms.
Hands-on experience with Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), commissioning, troubleshooting, and safety-critical operations.
Knowledge of electrical safety practices, including arc flash and energy isolation concepts.
Experience with Siemens PCS7 or equivalent distributed control systems.
Familiarity with industrial automation networks, SAP or similar ERP systems, and AutoCAD.
Fluency in English and Spanish.
Demonstrated safety leadership and strong risk awareness in manufacturing environments.
