VHIR is looking for a Laboratory Technician to join the Gene Therapy Group for Nervous System Research Group and contribute to the development of its research activities.
The Gene Therapy Group for Nervous System is a research group focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms involved in neurological diseases and developing advanced therapeutic approaches to address these conditions.

Main responsibilities and duties:
- Perform the maintenance of the equipment of different rooms and of the biosafety area (CO2 incubators, Sfaety-hoods, ultracentrifuges, freezers, etc).
- Manage and monitor the stock of reagents and laboratory consumables.
- Perform cell passages, both in suspension and adherent cultures, for vector production and experimental activities carried out by the research group.

Education and qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor degree in Biotechnology, Biomedicine, or related field.
- Fluency in Spanish and English (B2).

Experince and knowledge:
Required:
- At least 1 year of experience in cell culture and virology, including cell passage and maintenance,



in vitro studies and viral vector infections in cell cultures.
- At least 1 year of experience in molecular biology techniques, including plasmid DNA preparation (minipreps and maxipreps), PCR, and DNA and RNA extraction.

Desirable:
- Experience in viral vector production processes.

Labour conditions:
- Working hours : Part-time (18,75 hours per week).
- Starting date : October, 2026.
- Gross annual salary : Remuneration will be determined by experience, skills and responsibilities and aligned with the Collective Agreement pay scale.
- Contract type : Technical and scientific activities contract linked to project activities.
- Duration: 4 months.
