About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly competent Telecoms Field Service Engineer to provide essential on-site support and technical expertise across the Queenstown area. This role requires you to install, maintain, and repair a wide range of telecommunications equipment and systems at client locations and network facilities. You will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of service delivery and customer satisfaction. This is a demanding but rewarding position for a technically skilled individual looking to be a key player in maintaining network infrastructure reliability in the Eastern Cape.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and test telecommunications hardware and software solutions at customer sites.
- Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections on network equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, including hardware failures, software glitches, and network connectivity problems.
- Provide emergency field support and respond to urgent service calls to minimize downtime.




- Document all service activities, including repairs, maintenance performed, and parts used.
- Liaise with the central support team to elevate issues that cannot be resolved on-site.

Requirements
- National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Field Service Engineer in the telecommunications sector.
- Strong knowledge of radio access networks (RAN), microwave links, and fiber optic systems.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, test equipment, and relevant software applications.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently in diverse environments.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and be physically capable of performing site duties in and around Queenstown.
