VHIR seeks a vacant position for a Research Technician in the Group of Biomedical Research in Gynecology in order to develop a project in translational research in the area of endometrial cancer.
This is a unique chance to contribute to cutting-edge research in gynaecological diseases, specifically focusing on endometrial cancer, in the context of personalized medicine. A core component of the project will involve generating and utilizing patient-derived organoids (PDOs) as advanced in vitro models of the disease.

Main responsibilities and duties:
- Participate in translational research projects related to endometriosis, including molecular understanding of the disease and development and use of preclinical models.
- Collaborate with other projects of the group, by promoting fruitful discussions or by helping in experimental work.
- Participate in general activities of the group.
- Support the principal researcher in managerial activities.
Education and qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor studies in Biology, or similar sciences degrees
- Master's in Biomedicine or related fields.
- Professional fluency in English
Desirable:
- Course of animal handling
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
- Previous experience in a research group, and prior work in women's health research is a plus.
- Competitive bachelor's and master's marks and/or authorship in publications for PhD grant applications.
- Passionate, proactive, committed and with strong organisational skills.
Desirable:
- Experience in the development of in vitro preclinical models (patient-derived organoids).
- Prior laboratory experience with cell culture, molecular biology (particularly proteomic techniques), or bioinformatics and molecular data analysis is a strong advantage.
- Hands-on experience in data analysis and related software (R, Python, SPSS, ...)
- Experience in the development of in vivo models (PDX) and preclinical studies.
