Database Architect – Job Description

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Database Architect to design, develop, optimize, and maintain database architectures in a complex international and Agile environment. The role involves data modelling, database design, integration, performance optimization, security, testing, and technical documentation.

The successful candidate will work closely with both technical and business teams and contribute to database architecture standards, best practices, and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform data analysis, data modelling, and database design.
- Design and implement relational and NoSQL database solutions.
- Reverse engineer existing databases and data structures.
- Develop, maintain, and integrate database components.
- Integrate databases with other systems and data sources.
- Develop and execute database test programs, including PL/SQL unit testing.
- Establish and maintain best practices for database naming conventions, coding standards, and data models.
- Support database deployment and configuration activities.
- Troubleshoot database issues and perform performance optimization.
- Conduct database risk assessments, technical evaluations, and audits.
- Contribute to database security and release management.
- Support Master Data Management (MDM) activities.
- Prepare clear and structured technical and non-technical documentation.
- Prepare technical evaluations, reports, and database architecture documentation.
- Participate in project and technical meetings with business and development teams.
- Provide technical presentations to both business and technical audiences.
