You will work as a MindCapture consultant for an international market leader in the pharma industry.

Job Description:

- Develop and validate MRI methods for pharmaceutical materials, formulations and dosage forms
- Apply MRI to investigate water ingress, hydration, disintegration, swelling, diffusion and dissolution related mechanisms
- Characterise coating integrity, permeability, release behaviour, capsule disintegration and spatial heterogeneity
- Evaluate drug delivery system functionality through non destructive MRI visualisation
- Investigate sedimentation, phase separation and resuspendability of pharmaceutical suspensions and dispersed systems
- Prepare samples, perform laboratory experiments, interpret imaging data and report scientific findings
- Translate imaging results into actionable formulation, process and product development insights
- Collaborate with specialists across formulation development, analytical development, material science and product performance




- Develop procedures and fit for purpose data interpretation practices for MRI based characterisation
- Present scientific results to multidisciplinary internal stakeholders
- Potentially perform basic solid state NMR experiments
- Maintain laboratory activities in accordance with applicable quality, regulatory and safety requirements

Requirements:

- Master’s degree in physics, chemistry or a related scientific discipline with an affinity for complex instrumentation
- PhD or postdoctoral research experience is advantageous
- Hands on experience or strong knowledge of preclinical MRI instrumentation is highly preferred
- Strong background in imaging processing and interpretation of imaging or spectroscopic data
- Experience with artificial intelligence or machine learning for image processing is advantageous
- Experience with solid state NMR is advantageous
- Knowledge of organic chemistry is advantageous
- Strong scientific curiosity with a proactive, creative and independent working style
- Ability to communicate complex scientific results effectively to non expert audiences
- Strong collaboration skills within multidisciplinary and international environments
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Ability to work primarily onsite in a laboratory environment in Beerse
