Testing Engineer – Valve Services

Westinghouse Electric Company is looking for a Testing Engineer to join our Field Services Organization based in San Sebastián de los Reyes, Madrid. The selected candidate will become part of our Valve Services Department, supporting specialized testing, diagnostics, inspection and maintenance activities for nuclear power plants as well as other power generation and industrial facilities in Spain and abroad.

About the Team
The Testing Services team within Westinghouse Operating Plant Services performs and leads testing, maintenance and diagnostic activities both at our Madrid headquarters and onsite at client facilities worldwide.
Our current portfolio includes Nuclear Power Plants in Spain and internationally (Brazil, Mexico and other countries), as well as conventional power generation plants and industrial facilities.
Testing Services covers a wide range of technical disciplines, mainly in electrical, mechanical and instrumentation fields, related to plant equipment and systems testing, maintenance and reliability. Our scope also includes testing equipment development, maintenance and calibration.
Current openings are focused on the Valve Services Organization, including:
- Containment Leak Rate Testing (LLRT and ILRT).
- Motor-Operated Valve (MOV) and Air-Operated Valve (AOV) diagnostics, testing and maintenance.
New recruits will be assigned activities according to their education, experience, technical skills and interests. Comprehensive training and qualification programs will be provided in both technical and project management areas.
Main Responsibilities
- Perform and supervise maintenance, inspection and testing activities at customer facilities and company headquarters.
- Develop and revise technical reports, procedures, quality documentation and maintenance manuals.
- Analyze test results, perform engineering calculations and prepare technical recommendations.
- Support the preparation of technical and commercial proposals.
- Participate in internal and external audits.
- Manage testing equipment, including maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting and upgrades.
- Contribute to research and development activities and the implementation of new testing technologies.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, technology surveillance and knowledge sharing.
- Provide technical guidance and training to junior personnel.
- Progressively assume project management responsibilities, including:
- Planning and coordinating field activities.
- Defining priorities and project schedules.
- Leading teams onsite and at headquarters.
- Managing technical communications with customers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation or related disciplines.
- Availability to travel nationally and internationally for outage projects and customer support activities.
- Fluent Spanish and English (minimum B2 level).
- Strong technical interest and willingness to develop expertise in testing and maintenance services.
- Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple priorities.
- Proactive attitude, flexibility and strong problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
The following experience will be considered a strong advantage:
- Previous experience working in power plant outages or major maintenance projects.
- Experience in nuclear, energy, oil & gas, process industry or other highly regulated industrial environments.
- Knowledge of industrial valves,
including inspection, diagnostics, maintenance or repair activities.
- Experience with Motor-Operated Valves (MOVs) or Air-Operated Valves (AOVs).
- Familiarity with testing procedures, quality systems and safety culture environments.
- Previous experience coordinating field activities or interacting directly with customers.
