Paediatric tumours of the nervous system are the most common solid malignant neoplasms of childhood cancer and the leading cause of cancer-related death in children. The main objective of the Laboratory of Neural Tumours is to develop and implement new therapies to improve the outcome of paediatric cancer patients both, in terms of efficacy but also safety, to reduce the long-term sequalae of the current treatmentsIn particular, the laboratory focuses on paediatric solid tumours such as Neuroblastoma, a paediatric solid tumour of the peripheral nervous system, but also on highly aggressive tumours of the central nervous system (e.g. ependymoma, high-grade gliomas or medulloblastoma among others).

Main responsibilities and duties:
- Design and execution of experimental tasks.
- Collaborate with other projects of the lab.
- Prepare presentation of results and communication/dissemination material.
- Participation in the laboratory outreach activities.

Education and qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Sciences (Biology,



Biochemistry, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, etc..).
- Fluency in Spanish & English.

Desirable:
- English Certificate.
- Master’s degree in biomedical sciences.
- Animal experimentation course certificate.

Experience and knowledge:
Required:
- Previous experience in research in the field of paediatric oncology.
- High motivation for a research career.

Labour conditions:
- Working hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week).
- Starting date: July, 2026.
- Gross annual salary: Remuneration will be determined by experience, skills and responsibilities and aligned with the Collective Agreement pay scale.
- Contract type: Temporary contract (6 months).
