Wellington College is looking for a calm, practical and caring Matron to help create a positive, well-run boarding experience for pupils. This important role combines the oversight of a house's domestic provision with attentive pastoral support, ensuring pupils benefit from an environment that is safe, comfortable and conducive to growing independence.



The post is for 40 hours per week, for 36 weeks of the year.
Working closely with the Housemaster or Housemistress, residential colleagues, the Matron Manager and Domestic Services team, the successful candidate will lead and support the house domestic team. They will maintain high standards across housekeeping, laundry and the presentation of the house, while coordinating priorities, supporting rota arrangements and ensuring supplies and equipment are appropriately maintained. Clear communication, thoughtful organisation and a collaborative approach will be central to ensuring the house operates effectively each day.
The Matron will also be a trusted and approachable presence for pupils, offering appropriate care and practical support in relation to their health, wellbeing and daily routines.
