VHIR offers a vacant position for a Predoctoral Researcher within the Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders Research Group in order to develop a project in translational research in paediatric sarcomas.
This is a unique chance to contribute to significant translational research in paediatric cancer, specifically focusing on bone sarcomas, in the context of drug discovery. A core component of the project will involve validating and screening new compounds as advanced new therapeutic strategies in in vitro and in vivo models.
Main responsibilities and duties:
Perform routine laboratory techniques (cell culture, molecular biology, protein analysis) in support of the group's preclinical research projects on paediatric sarcomas
Strong organisational, communication, and teamwork skills.
Authorship of scientific publications.Provide technical support to researchers and PhD students in the development and execution of in vitro and in vivo experiments.
Collaborate on shared projects and cross-cutting experimental procedures.
Prepare and organise reagents, samples and biological material,
ensuring correct storage, traceability and biosafety standards.
Analyse and process experimental data and assist in preparing results for lab meetings, reports, publications and grant applications.
Monitor and track laboratory stock, equipment maintenance and orders, and ensure compliance with internal quality and safety protocols.
Education and qualifications:
Required:
Master's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biomedical Sciences or a related field.
Certificate in Animal Experimentation (mouse).
Additional training in laboratory techniques such as cell culture and molecular biology.
Fluency in Catalan, Spanish and English (professional proficiency).
Desirable:
Strong organisational, communication, and teamwork skills.
Authorship of scientific publications.
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
At least 1–2 years' experience working in a research laboratory, preferably in oncolo
