The Vall d’Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) is a public sector institution that promotes and develops biomedical research, innovation and teaching at Vall d’Hebron University Hospital, one of the largest hospital campuses in Europe.

The I2P2-RG (Infections and Immunodeficiencies in Paediatric Patients Research Group) conducts research and implementation projects focused on child health, immunodeficiencies, infectious diseases and health systems strengthening, both in high and low
- and middle-income countries. The group collaborates with international partners and healthcare institutions to generate evidence and improve clinical care for vulnerable populations.

We are seeking a Paediatrician with experience or strong interest in global health to work within the Infectious Diseases and Integral Child Health activities, collaborating with Hospital Nossa Senhora da Paz in Cubal, Angola, where this position will be based. The role includes supporting paediatric care, training local professionals and implementing research projects addressing infectious diseases, malaria and child health.





Main responsibilities and duties:
Clinical care
- Provide paediatric clinical care in inpatient and outpatient services at Hospital Nossa Senhora da Paz (Cubal, Angola).
- Support management of severe paediatric conditions including infectious diseases, malaria, malnutrition and neonatal complications.
- Contribute to strengthening paediatric clinical protocols and quality of care.

Training and capacity building
- Provide bedside teaching and mentoring to local physicians, nurses and medical trainees.
- Participate in the development of clinical training sessions and educational activities.
- Support strengthening of paediatric clinical decision-making and diagnostic capacity.

Research and project activities
- Coordinate clinical research activities within the MULTIPLY project, funded by La Caixa Foundation.
- Support implementation research and operational research activities conduct
