What You'll Do

As a Construction Contract Manager II with City Utilities Engineering, you'll help guide important infrastructure projects from contract award through construction completion. You'll serve as the City's representative during construction, working closely with engineers, contractors, inspectors, and City staff to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and according to plan.

This role blends project management, contract administration, field coordination, and problem solving to help deliver critical water, sewer, and utilities infrastructure that supports the Fort Wayne community.

Key Responsibilities




- Manage construction contracts from bid award through project completion, including pre-construction coordination and contractor communication - Serve as the City's representative during construction, conducting site visits, resolving issues, and ensuring work meets plans, specifications, and quality standards - Coordinate project schedules, shop drawing reviews, inspections, testing, and contractor payment approvals - Review and negotiate change orders, contract adjustments, and completion timelines while maintaining project budgets and documentation - Monitor regulatory permit compliance, SWPPP requirements, easements, and project documentation using the Project Management Information System (PMIS)
