Design Engineer
This challenging and exciting opportunity requires an individual with a good technical background and demonstrable experience from within the piling, foundations and ground engineering sector. Applications are also invited from Site Engineers/Contracts Engineers from the piling sector wishing to progress their career in the design field. Home working is available for around 2 days a week, with the rest of the week in the office.
Due to continued expansion, an abundant pipeline of works, and the strategy to bring as many aspects of contracts in-house as possible to offer clients a holistic turnkey package, our client is now looking to appoint a Design Engineer. The successful candidate will be of a high calibre with enthusiasm and drive to make an impact. You must have strong technical acumen coupled with a general passion for ground engineering. You will also have a professional approach and a keen eye for detail, along with excellent communication and IT skills.
The Role
Provide design solutions from work winning concept phase to practical completion of projects with the common goal to secure contracts and increase site net margin.
Deliver competitive and innovative design solutions
Ensure design efficiency and buildability
Take accountability for creating designs that are not only efficient but also practical and buildable, with input from collaboration with the operational teams.
Provide technical and design support to all departments and be fully integrated to the estimating teams and operational teams to aid their performance.
Analyse the project input to reach an agreement and integrate this into a design solution.
Contribute to the continued improvement of processes within the department
The Person
Degree level qualification in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering
Experience of various piled foundation techniques
Ability to understand and interpret GI-SI data
Good level of commercial awareness.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
