Job Title: Building Inspector 3H
Location: Home Based/Hybrid UK Wide
Contract Duration: 6 Months (could extend)
Daily Rate: Circa £650/day + (Umbrella)
IR35 Status : Inside IR35
*candidates must be Class 3H registered
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and review of policy, technical standards, and guidance
- related to building control, building regulations and Duty holder compliance under the new regulatory regime.
- Provide expert advice to inform regulatory frameworks and operational guidance, particularly where building control processes interact with Gateway decisions, golden thread information, or occupation stage duties.
- Provide specialist building control expertise to MDTs convened for Gateway 2 applications, Safety Case Report assessments, and investigations and enforcement cases.
- Assist technical policy teams internally and externally as required at relevant Meetings

Essential Skills and Criteria
- Registration as a Class 3 Category H Registered Building Inspector.
- Full membership of RICS, CABE, CIOB or equivalent.




- Substantial experience in building control regulation, including assessing compliance with building regulations and overseeing complex or higher risk building projects.
- Ability to interpret technical and regulatory information and apply it pragmatically in support of proportionate enforcement or regulatory decision making.
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, concise and accessible technical advice and guidance.
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary environments and contributing technical assurance in decision making contexts whilst maintaining positive working relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders.
