Join the RAC as a Roadside Technician
Join the team that keeps the UK moving. As a Roadside Technician with a Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification (or equivalent) and at least 2 years' experience, youll receive:
- A market-competitive base salary of £36,400 and a realistic OTE of £60,000, with top-performers earning significantly more through bonuses and enhanced overtime rates.
- Start and finish on your driveway. Demand-led shifts averaging 40 hours per week, with optional overtime available.
Where youll work Youll be part of the Warrington cluster, covering areas like Warrington, Widnes, Runcorn, Newton-le-Willows, Leigh, Golborne, Ashton-in-Makerfield. We organise work locally so you can start and finish at home, focusing your day on getting members back on the road in your local area. What youll need: Either:
- NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years experience
or
- 5+ years experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
and
- A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points
As a Roadside Technician within our Patrol division, youll deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK. Whether its a flat battery, tyre change, or complex fault-finding, youll provide quick, confident solutions and reassurance when our members need it most.
Youll start and end your day at home, tackling challenges head-on and making a real impact on the roadside - combining your technical expertise with outstanding member service.
Well set you up for success from day one, with your own RAC van, fuel card, full uniform, essential tools, and diagnostic kit all provided.
