As a Rust Backend Engineer on the Engine team, you design and extend core language and runtime features for the Expression Language, Data Mapper, and Decision Engine. You will embed Rust as native components within Ruby and Go services, and advance WASM sandboxing for safe isolation. You collaborate with Product and AI teams to define what these components expose, driving scalable, low-latency data workflows. This role offers the chance to impact high-throughput systems used company-wide and contribute to a modern, cloud-native automation platform.
Compensaciones / Incentivos
• Design and build core language and runtime features for Expression Language, Data Mapper, and Decision Engine
• Extend Rust core and embed as native components in Ruby and Go services via FFI bindings
• Expand Decision Engine from static rules to include formulas
• Contribute to WASM sandboxing for isolation between components




• Collaborate with Product and AI teams to specify exposure surfaces for components
Responsabilidades
• Deep, hands-on Rust experience at a systems/backend level
• Working competence in Go (production level)
• Proven experience embedding Rust in other runtimes (e.g., Rust-in-Ruby, Rust-in-Go)
• Strong algorithms and data-structures fundamentals
• Experience with AI-assisted workflows and handling edge cases
• Experience xqbhyrx with systems handling millions of requests per day
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills
• Experience planning phased implementations and leading cross-team projects
• Proven track record with feature flags, gradual rollouts, and zero-downtime deployments
• Ability to facilitate architectural decision-making and create technical roadmaps
• Mentorship mindset and cost analysis capabilities
