About the Role
We are looking for a Data Centre Technician to support the day-to-day operation of data centre facilities in the Brussels region.
This is a hands-on technical role combining basic IT infrastructure knowledge with practical data centre and facilities support.
We're looking for someone who is technically minded, flexible and has a logical approach to problem-solving. You should be comfortable working with technology but equally happy getting involved in practical, physical tasks when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on technical support within the data centre environment
- Carry out basic checks and troubleshooting on servers and network equipment
- Support basic electrical and power-related checks
- Assist with checks and basic troubleshooting of cooling / air-conditioning systems
- Assist with equipment installation, movement and general physical tasks
- Carry out practical maintenance and ad-hoc technical tasks
- Follow procedures carefully and escalate more complex issues when required
- Take a logical, "think before acting" approach to troubleshooting
- Once fully trained, participate in the standby/on-call system
About You
- Basic knowledge of servers and networking
- Practical or technical knowledge of electricity
- Some knowledge or experience with cooling / air-conditioning
- Comfortable with physical, hands-on work
- Practical, adaptable and willing to learn
- Strong logical approach to problem-solving
- Comfortable working across a variety of technical and practical tasks
- Willing to participate in standby/on-call duties once fully trained
- Valid driving licence and access to a car are mandatory
- English is required; French and/or Dutch is an advantage
The Ideal Background
You may come from an IT support, data centre, field service, technical maintenance, electrical, facilities or infrastructure background.
The most important thing is that you're comfortable working with both technology and your hands.
If you're someone who can carry out basic server/network checks, understands practical electrical or cooling systems and isn't afraid to get involved with hands-on tasks, this could be a great opportunity.
