Santa Maria Golf Club is seeking a proactive, customer-focused Starter / Marshall / Buggy desk to join our Golf Operations team. This role is essential to ensuring an exceptional experience for our members and guests, maintaining pace of play, and upholding the standards of the golf course.

?Key Responsibilities

- Welcome players upon arrival at the tee and provide all necessary information regarding course rules, pace of play, and daily conditions.
- Monitor and regulate the pace of play throughout the course to ensure smooth flow and enjoyable rounds for all golfers.
- Assist players with any on-course needs, offering excellent customer service at all times.
- Communicate effectively with the Pro Shop and Operations Team regarding any incidents, slow groups, or course issues.
- Ensure that golfers comply with club policies, including dress code, etiquette, and safety guidelines.
- Inspect the course during rounds and report any maintenance issues to the greenkeeping team.
- Support tournament operations when required.
- Represent the club professionally as an ambassador on the course.
- Manage buggy reservations and assign vehicles according to tee times.
- Inspect, charge,



and maintain buggies to ensure proper functioning.
- Explain buggy rules, safety procedures and course restrictions to players.
- Keep the buggy area organised, clean and well-coordinated.
- Report any damage or mechanical issues immediately.

?Requirements

- Fluent Spanish and English are essential (spoken and written).
- Knowledge of additional languages (particularly German, French, or Scandinavian languages) will be highly valued.
- Strong communication and people skills.
- Passion for golf and understanding of golf etiquette and rules.
- Ability to remain calm and diplomatic in challenging situations.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Availability to work mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
