? About the role

At Juryo we are looking for people who want their work to have a real impact in the real world, applying AI inside some of the leading law firms in Europe.

We are past 1M in ARR, live in Spain and the UK, and our agents run the operations of the firms that use us every single day. Real clients, real calls, real money on the line.

So what does a Founding Engineer actually do?

Our agents need software to run on. You build it. You own whole parts of the product, from the database to the screen the firm looks at every morning, and you ship them into production while real clients are using the system.

In practice:

- You shape the architecture instead of inheriting it. You sit with the founding team and the decisions you make now are the ones the company lives with for years.
- You own entire verticals of the product end to end. Not tickets, not a slice of someone else's feature.
- You build the layer the agents operate on: the pipelines, the workflows, the plumbing that has to hold when a client's whole operation depends on it.
- You ship daily. What you write this week is in front of lawyers next week, and their feedback comes straight back to you.
- When something breaks in production, you are the one who fixes it. There is nobody else to hand it to, and that is the point.

? What you need to do this well

- You have built and shipped real software that real people use. Probably inside a bigger engineering org, where you learned how to do it properly.
- You are done with the slow version of that. The layers of process, the decisions that take three weeks, the feeling that your work disappears into a machine.



You want the direct line between what you build and what the product becomes.
- You get agentic tooling. You have figured out how to direct AI coding tools instead of typing every line, and it shows in how much you ship.
- You work hard. We are a group of people who want to make a dent in the world and we put the hours in. If that sounds heavy rather than exciting, this is probably not the place for you.
- You can hold your own judgement. There is no roadmap handed down to you, so you need to be able to decide what matters and defend it.
- Barcelona. This is a fully on site role at our office. You are here already or you are ready to relocate.

- Backend: Node.js, Supabase and Postgres, Vercel infrastructure (Queues, Workflows, Cron, Sandbox)
- AI: Vercel AI SDK, Eve, OCR, evals
- Debugging and AI observability: Braintrust, Postman
- Infrastructure: Turborepo, Vercel

If you have never touched some of these, that is fine. We care much more about how fast you pick things up.
