We are currently looking for an experienced Platform Engineer to join a Digital Platform team responsible for building and improving robust cloud-native platform capabilities and shared engineering services.
This is a hands-on engineering role sitting between software development, cloud infrastructure and platform enablement . You will work closely with engineering teams to build scalable platform services, improve automation and establish secure and reliable engineering practices.
What You'll Be Doing
- Design, build and improve cloud-native platform capabilities using AWS and modern software engineering practices.
- Develop and maintain applications and shared platform components using Java and TypeScript .
- Work extensively with Kubernetes , Helm and ArgoCD.
- Build scalable and maintainable infrastructure using AWS CDK and/or Terraform .
- Improve and standardise CI/CD pipelines , including Azure DevOps.
- Automate build, testing, quality and deployment processes.
- Work with AWS services including SQS and SNS .
- Embed security,
quality and compliance requirements into engineering workflows.
- Improve resilience, observability and cost efficiency across the platform.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure smooth integration with shared platform services.
Requirements
- 5+ years' experience within senior engineering, platform engineering, full-stack engineering or a comparable role.
- Strong commercial AWS experience.
- Hands-on experience with AWS CDK and Infrastructure as Code.
- Commercial software development experience using Java and TypeScript .
- Experience with automated testing and secure software delivery.
- Strong understanding of modern software architecture.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
