About The Role

As our Video Editor, you will own the edit stage of Scrambly's creative production — a high-volume operation shipping dozens of new video concepts every week across TikTok, Meta, AppLovin, and Google Ads. You will report to our Creative Producer, who sets creative direction and priorities.

The work spans all kinds of video content and all genres —

- UGC-style ads, AI-generated video, motion graphics, animation, commercials, real footage with actors. We don't hire for one format. We hire a video editor who can edit videos of any type according to the task and deliver at a professional level every time.

This is not a template-assembly role. The single most important thing we're hiring for is a real feel for storytelling — a professional foundation in dramaturgy, pacing, film structure, and camera language. Editing is your profession, not a side skill picked up from templates.

AI is the second pillar of this role. You'll work daily with modern AI generation tools, turning generated footage, real footage, and app screen recordings into finished videos. Your edits directly move CPI, spend scalability, and creative win rate.

This is a long-term, core-team position with real growth potential — we're building a team, not staffing a project.

- Bring professional editing standards to every cut: shot selection, rhythm, sound-driven editing, and color grading used deliberately to shape emotion
- Iterate on winning creatives — trimming, reskinning, and testing new hooks based on performance data
- AI-Native Production
- Generate and assemble AI footage using the most popular platforms (Kling, Google Veo, Runway, Seedance, ElevenLabs, etc.) into coherent final renders — fixing continuity and elevating raw generations to a professional standard
- Choose the right tool for each task and proactively apply new models, tools, and techniques that speed up production or raise quality
- Composite genuine app UI screen recordings onto AI avatar and real-actor footage
- Deliver per-platform final specs for TikTok, Meta, AppLovin, and Google Ads placements, including format adaptations (vertical ↔ horizontal, all aspect ratios)

- Work daily with the Creative Producer and editing team in a fast feedback loop
- Suggest hook and structure improvements; flag creative-policy issues before launch
- Help refine our editing playbook and maintain consistent quality at volume

Requirements

- Strong storytelling and film-structure fundamentals — this is the #1 requirement. Dramaturgy, pacing, camera language: you know the rules of filmmaking and when to break them.
- 3+ years of experience as a professional video editor (agency, film/TV, production house, or performance creative), with a portfolio showing range across formats and genres — not just one style
- Hands-on experience with the most popular AI video platforms — you know the strengths and weaknesses of each and pick the right one for the job




- You're on top of what's happening in AI and video editing — you follow the news, test new tools, and bring what works into the workflow
- Proficiency in professional editing software —
- Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere, or similar
- Understanding of motion graphics and After Effects — you don't have to be an AE expert, but you must understand how it works so you can apply that knowledge when generating with AI
- Organized, fast, and reliable — able to ship at volume with consistent quality
- Strong English communication skills (B2+) — all briefs, feedback, and team communication are in English

Nice to Have

- Deep After Effects / motion graphics expertise — a big plus
- French language skills — we run active French-market campaigns
- Prior experience editing performance ads for mobile apps

Success Metrics (First 3 Months)

- Consistent weekly output of finished creatives at agreed volume
- Reduced revision rounds per creative — briefs land right the first time
- Edits contributing to new winning concepts entering scaling
- Faster turnaround on iteration requests for winning creatives
- Quality bar maintained across every format and deliverable, no compliance misses
