Product Engineer – AML & Financial Crime Technology

Madrid | Hybrid 50/50

Spanish C1/C2 required

AML / Financial Crime experience essential

We are working with a high-growth

AI-driven FinTech/RegTech business

that develops sophisticated

AML, fraud prevention and financial crime technology

for banks, fintechs and enterprise organisations globally.

They are looking for a

Product Engineer

who can operate at the intersection of

Product, Engineering and Financial Crime.

Someone with strong AML domain knowledge who is technically comfortable working with engineering teams to turn complex regulatory and operational requirements into scalable product capabilities.

This is a

technically focused product role , rather than a traditional commercial Product Manager position. You’ll work closely with software engineers, technical teams and AML specialists across a platform using

machine learning, behavioural analytics and real-time transaction processing

to detect suspicious activity and financial crime at scale.

What you'll be working on

Own and evolve product capabilities across

AML and Financial Crime

Work extensively across

transaction monitoring, sanctions/screening and fraud detection

Translate complex

AML, regulatory and customer requirements into technical product requirements

Partner closely with

Software Engineering

on solution design, functionality, technical feasibility and delivery

Define requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria and product priorities

Contribute to the technical roadmap and prioritisation of new platform capabilities

Understand how AML rules, workflows,



data and detection models translate into software functionality

Work with customers and internal teams to identify gaps and improve existing AML capabilities

Balance

regulatory requirements, technical constraints, customer needs and product scalability

Support products operating across

high-volume, real-time financial transaction environments

What we're looking for

Strong

AML / Financial Crime domain knowledge is essential . You should understand areas such as:

AML, Transaction Monitoring, Sanctions Screening, Customer/Payment Screening, Fraud Detection, Financial Crime Compliance

Alongside this, we’re looking for someone who is technically strong enough to work credibly with engineering teams and understands how software products are designed and delivered.

Your background could be as a

Technical Product Owner, Product Engineer, Technical Product Manager or technically focused Business Analyst/Product Specialist

within an AML, fraud, banking, FinTech or RegTech environment.

Experience working with

AML platforms, transaction monitoring systems, screening technology, APIs, data-driven products, real-time processing or machine-learning-based financial crime solutions

would be particularly relevant.
