Experteer Overview
Senior Cybersecurity Researcher at Fortra's Cobalt Strike team, focused on understanding modern attacker tradecraft and turning research into practical product capabilities. You’ll work closely with engineers and cross-functional teams to validate techniques in controlled environments and guide feature development. The role emphasizes translating findings into actionable product enhancements that help authorized security teams emulate threats safely. This is a hands-on, research-driven position with a clear impact on product roadmap and security operations. Compensaciones / Incentivos
• Research adversary tactics and post-exploitation tradecraft to identify product opportunities
• Analyze security research, malware reports, PoC techniques, and security controls for product improvements
• Collaborate with engineers, PMs, QA, support, and researchers to translate research into product capabilities
• Prototype and validate new techniques in controlled lab environments
• Evaluate interaction of offensive security with Windows security features and enterprise hardening
• Produce technical write-ups, design notes, and recommendations for engineering and product teams
• Contribute to the roadmap by identifying trends, customer needs, and gaps
• Collaborate during design, planning, testing,
and validation with engineering teams
• Communicate research findings to technical and non-technical audiences via talks, docs, blogs, and webinars
• Participate in team planning, roadmap discussions, and cross-functional technical discussions
Responsabilidades
• Strong experience in cybersecurity research, offensive security, threat research, red teaming, malware analysis, reverse engineering, detection engineering, or related discipline
• Curiosity about attacker operations and how to safely emulate, detect, and respond
• Working knowledge of Windows internals
• Understanding of post-exploitation concepts and enterprise security controls
• Ability to analyze technical research and translate findings into product recommendations
• Experience testing techniques in controlled lab environments to reproduce behaviors
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Ability to write clear technical documentation for engineering, product, and customer audiences
• Ability to work independently on ambiguous problems and communicate progress clearly
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• High ethical standards and sound judgment when working with offensive security technology
