About the business division
Our Water Utility Division and Water Consultancy Division both have ambitious growth plans aligned with the significant investment needs of AMP8 **********) and the broader water sector, particularly in the development of Strategic Resource Options to address future water supply challenges. We are proud of our strong reputation in the industry, which is allowing us to expand our business across both divisions. Together, we cover all phases of the project lifecycle—from feasibility studies through detailed design, construction support, and commissioning to handover—and provide specialist technical support to colleagues across our global business. Overview of the role
After recent framework successes,



we have opportunities for Senior civil engineers (design engineers) within our multidisciplinary Water Division. We work on a vast range of design projects covering, for example:
Water treatment
Water distribution
Wastewater drainage and recycling
Desalination
Our clients include most UK water utility companies and many other governmental organisations and private companies in the UK and overseas. We cover all phases of the project lifecycle from feasibility studies through detailed design, construction support, and commissioning to handover. This offers fantastic opportunities to get involved in diverse and technically challenging work and support professional development.
To help us to meet the growing needs of our clients, we are looking for civil engineers who will thrive:
Working across multiple UK and Ireland water companies
Being part of multi-disciplinary design teams in project delivery
Delivering excellence everyday
Preparing design submissions to ensure compliance with contract requirements
Undertaking studies, concept, preliminary and detailed design
Interfacing and liaising with clients and other stakeholders
The role will work as part of an integrated team across Spain, the UK and Ireland, collaborating closely to deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes for our clients.
Candidate specification
Essential:
Civil Engineering degree or other relevant degree
Chartered or near chartered status (ICE or equivalent)
Water and/or wastewater engineering design experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Understanding of the importance of prioritising health, safety,



and environmental issues
Proactive approach, with an ability to adapt to changing scenarios
Desirable
Strong digital capability (e.g. Civils 3D, GIS, Pipeline hydraulics software)
Contributed towards the identification and development of low carbon solutions
