PREFAB DATA CENTERS BUSINESS

The modular Data Centers have been driving tremendous growth in the segment during the last years. As part of the Data Center Systems Line of Business, the MODULAR DATA CENTER organization designs and integrates full solutions in the field of power conversion, energy storage, cooling, electrical distribution, and control software into modular enclosures.

About the position:

The Senior Project Engineer - Mechanical Systems is responsible for the technical leadership, integration, and execution of mechanical systems within prefabricated buildings and modular construction projects.

The role requires extensive experience coordinating mechanical engineering activities while ensuring efficient integration with manufacturing, logistics, site assembly, and commissioning processes. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of prefabricated construction methodologies and demonstrated experience delivering complex building projects incorporating HVAC, cooling systems, piping networks, and industrial mechanical installations.

Data center experience is considered a strong advantage.

Key Responsabilities:





•Lead the technical execution of mechanical systems within prefabricated and modular building projects.
• Review and coordinate HVAC, cooling, piping, ventilation, and mechanical equipment designs.
• Ensure mechanical systems comply with customer requirements, project specifications, and applicable standards.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities with electrical, structural, architectural, and controls teams.
• Optimize designs for prefabrication, manufacturing, transportation, and site assembly.
• Support constructability reviews and drive practical engineering solutions during project execution.
• Review and approve technical submittals, shop drawings, and vendor documentation.
• Identify and resolve mechanical integration issues throughout design, manufacturing, and installation phases.
• Support manufacturing and site teams during assembly, installation, and commissioning activities.
• Manage mechanical engineering schedules, deliverables, and technical change control processes.
• Review equipment layouts, piping arrangements, and system integration requirements.
• Participate in quality inspections, performance testing, and commissioning activities.
• Support the preparation of as-built documentation, O&M; manuals, and final handover packages.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and designers.

What will help you to be successful?





Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Additional qualifications in Building Services, or Industrial Engineering are advantageous.
Proven expertise in designing and integrating mechanical systems within construction projects.
Strong background in prefabricated and modular building construction.

Extensive knowledge of:

o Mechanical systems in prefabricated buildings
o Waterproofing systems
o Cooling systems
o Piping networks.
o Mechanical equipment layouts.

Strong understanding of manufacturing and assembly constraints associated wit prefabricated buildings.
Ability to coordinate mechanical interfaces with electrical, structural, architectural, and controls disciplines.
Experience reviewing constructability and assembly requirements.
Excellent communication, coordination, and organizational skills.
