Level 2 IT Support Engineer Service Desk French/English– Zaventem, Belgium ITIL Infrastructure SQL/AWS/Linux; freelance (long term).

We are looking for an experienced Level 2 IT Support Engineer to join a growing Service Desk team. The role combines technical troubleshooting, incident management, maintenance, testing and continuous improvement in a business-critical environment.

The adecuado candidate is hands-on, technically strong and comfortable taking end-to-end ownership of incidents, working with Development, DevOps, vendors and other technical teams to resolve complex issues.

Mindset - attitude are more important than tech skills.

3/4 days in office (at Brussels Airport) initially is a MUST (to shadow a person leaving) then more hybrid.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide Level 2 application and infrastructure support.
- Own incidents and service requests through to resolution and closure.
- Diagnose complex issues across applications, infrastructure, networks, databases and operating systems.
- Analyse logs, traces and monitoring data to identify root causes.
- Provide remote and occasional on-site technical support.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, testing and troubleshooting.
- Work with Development and DevOps teams to resolve defects and recurring issues.
- Support deployments, releases, upgrades and production changes.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, knowledge articles and troubleshooting guides.
- Identify opportunities for automation, monitoring and service improvement.




- Participate in an on-call rotation when required.

Technical Skills

Strong experience in several of the following:

- Windows Server, IIS, SQL Server
- Linux / Unix administration
- SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch
- APIs, system integration, messaging and distributed/microservices architectures
- ActiveMQ / Apache Camel
- Python (good to have), PowerShell, JavaScript or C#
- Virtualisation / virtual machines and test environments
- Monitoring, observability and log analysis
- Backup / restore and secure remote support
- Jira & Confluence
- ITIL-based incident, problem, change and service management

Experience Required

- 3+ years' experience in Level 2 or equivalent IT application/infrastructure support
- Strong structured troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
- Experience working in a business-critical / 24x7 environment.
- Comfortable working with multiple technical teams and external vendors.
- Strong English; French and/or Dutch advantageous.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to customer sites.
- Valid driving licence.

Working model: Remote support + occasional on-site work

On-call: Planned and compensated rotation
