SAP FICO FUNCTIONAL ANALYST (Medior)

Job Title: Freelance SAP FICO Functional Consultant (1-Year Contract)

Location: Belgium (Hybrid: 3 days on-site, 2 days remote)

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated SAP FICO Functional Analyst with at least 5 years of experience and a proven track record in implementation, business process analysis, and hands-on data migration. You will be responsible for the configuration, testing, and support of SAP FI and CO modules. You will work closely with business finance stakeholders to resolve issues, optimize month-end processes, and play a key execution role in our data migration and system rollout initiatives, reporting to a Senior Lead for architectural guidance..

Key Responsibilities

1. Implementation & Project Delivery

- Participate in full-cycle SAP FICO implementations, taking ownership of specific workstreams (e.g., AP/AR, Asset Accounting, or Cost Centers) from blueprinting through to go-live.
- Execute hands-on configuration in the FI and CO modules based on functional specifications provided by the project team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (SD, MM, BW) to support integration testing and ensure seamless order-to-cash and procure-to-pay processes.
- Prepare and execute cutover plans for the finance workstream during project go-lives.

2. Business Analysis & Process Optimization

- Conduct thorough analysis of finance end-users' pain points and translate them into practical system solutions.




- Proactively identify process gaps in current configurations and propose improvements to streamline month-end closing, reporting, and intercompany reconciliations.
- Document functional requirements, process flows, and test scripts for new developments and enhancements.
- Perform root-cause analysis on recurring production issues and implement sustainable fixes.

3. Data Migration & Conversion

- Actively perform data migration activities, including data extraction from legacy systems, data mapping, validation, and loading.
- Utilize SAP migration tools (LTMC, LSMW) to load master data (Customer/Vendor masters, GL accounts) and transactional balances.
- Perform rigorous data reconciliation post-migration to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Support data cleansing efforts in collaboration with the finance team prior to cutover.

4. System Maintenance & Support

- Provide Tier 2/3 functional support to finance users, resolving configuration issues and user errors in a timely manner.
- Manage transports and coordinate system changes through the landscape (Dev-QA-Prod).
- Create and maintain user training materials, job aids, and deliver end-user training sessions for new functionalities.

Idóneo Candidate Profile

Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance,



or Accounting or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience as an SAP FICO Functional Analyst.
- Proven experience in at least 2 full-cycle implementations (Project Preparation to Go-Live).
- Experience with data migration projects (SAP to SAP or Legacy to SAP).
- Solid configuration experience in:
- FI: General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Asset Accounting (AA), and Bank Accounting.
- CO: Cost Center Accounting (CCA), Profit Center Accounting (PCA), Internal Orders, and familiarity with COPA or Product Costing (as a plus).
- Hands-on proficiency with migration tools (LTMC and LSMW).
- Good understanding of FICO integration points with SD (revenue recognition, pricing) and MM (invoice verification, GR/IR).
- Familiarity with Fiori apps and basic authorization concepts is a plus.

- Fluent in French or Dutch (required for client/stakeholder communication).
