Co-funded by the European Union in theframework of the program Galicia FEDER .Research line / Scientific-technical services: Automatization of supporting structures: Intelligent support for structural designGrant/funding period: START: APRIL 01, 2026 END: SEPTEMBER 30, 2028Centre of Principal Researcher: POLYTECHNIC SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING AT FERROL / COMPUTER SCIENCE FACULTY AT A CORUÑAPURPOSE OF CONTRACT: SEE ATTACHED CALL REPORTCollaborator on activities related to the project/agreement stated.JOB LOCATION AND SCHEDULE: CEMI UDC FACILITIES - NAVANTIA Batallones Building (Ferrol), Monday to Friday from 9:00 - 14:00 and from 16:00 - 18:00This contract is convened under the project Centro Mixto de Investigación "The shipyard of the future" (hereinafter CEMI) in which the University of A Coruña and the companies STGO and Navantia participate.The purpose of this contract is the collaboration in the research activities carried out within CEMI.TASKS TO BE PERFORMED AND THE SUBJECT OF THE CONTRACTDesign and develop methods to automate the mechanical design process and structural validation of beams used in the ship's equipment.Develop methods for optimizing the design of beams.Integrate the developed methods into the Computer-Aided Design and Finite Element Analysis software tools used by NavantiaDURATION OF THE CONTRACTThe contract will be indefinite, in accordance with applicable law. It is cautioned that the context of this call is linked to the CEMI project, the completion of which is scheduled to end in September 30, 2028.GENERAL REQUIREMENTS(1) All applicants must meet the following requirements by the deadline for the submission of applications andmaintain them during the term of the contract:a) To have Spanish nationality or any other to which state regulations attribute equal rights for labor purposesin the public administration.b) To have the required qualification and meet the rest of the requirements indicated in the call.(c) To have reached the age of sixteen years and do not exceed, if applicable, the maximum age of forcedretirement.d) To possess the functional capacity necessary to develop the corresponding functions or tasks described inmemory(e) Not to have been separated by the applicant by disciplinary record from the service of any publicadministration or the constitutional or statutory bodies of the autonomous communities,
or to be in a positionof absolute or special disqualification for employment or public office by judicial resolution, for access to thebody or scale of civil servant or to perform functions similar to those performed, in which the said person hadbeen separated or disqualified.In the event of being a national of another country, the applicant shall be required not to be disqualified or inan equivalent situation, or to be subjected to disciplinary sanction or equivalent that prevents, in his/hercountry, on the same terms, access to public employment.(2) The recruitment of foreign persons from non-EU countries, which shall be formalized for the sole purpose ofcarrying out research or technical tasks, shall require the submission, at the time of signing the contract, of theresidence permit and the authorization of work on behalf of another person or the accreditation of the concurrence ofcause of exception of such authorization, In accordance with Organic Law 4/2000, of the 11 of January, on the rightsand freedoms of foreigners in Spain, and their social integration and applicable regulatory provisions.Additional InformationEligibility criteriaSELECTION CRITERIAHaving completed a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master's degree in the field of Industrial or Naval Engineering will be positively scored.Similarly, previous experience and specific training (courses, seminars, etc.) in the following topics will be positively considered:Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Mechanical Software.Computational mechanics on the call topic.Programming.It is mandatory to support the merits with the presentation of documents or official statements. Any supporting document must be issued prior to the end of the call period.Only merits related to the profile of the position will be scored.The position will remain vacant if no candidate reaches a minimum of 50 points according to the following scale. This minimum will also be applicable to be part of the hiring waitlist.o Academic degree. The required degree to apply for the position will be evaluated, up to 25 points:Score attained by the PhD:Cum Laude: 20 pointsOutstanding: 15 pointsNotable: 10 pointsPassed: 5 pointsMention of European, International, or Industrial Doctorate: 5 pointsDegree in Mechanical Engineering: up to 10 points, directly proportional to the average grade of the academic record on a 0-10 scale.Master's in the field of Industrial or Naval Engineering: up to 10 points, directly proportional to the average grade of the academic record on a 0-10 scale.Mechanical Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computational Mechanics courses on the call topic, imparted or received:
up to 10 points (1 point for every 20 hours).Programming courses related to the position profile: up to 5 points (1 point for every 20 hours).English language: up to 5 points according to the CEFR level (C1 or higher: 5 points; B2: 3 points; B1: 1 point)o ExperienceSpecific experience related to the particular profile being applied for: up to 10 points.Previous experience in research organizations performing R&D; tasks in the field of mechanical design or computational mechanics on the call profile: 2 points per year worked up to a maximum of 10 points.o Scientific publications and research output related to the subject of the contract: up to 5 points.Only articles in journals and presentations at conferences related to mechanical design orcomputational mechanics on the call profile.• The weighting of journal articles will be: 2 points for an article in JCR Q1, 1 for Q2, 0.5for Q3, and 0.25 for Q4 or journals not included in JCR.• The weighting of conference presentations will be: 0.25 points per international conference.o Personal interview: the suitability of the curriculum vitae for the job position will be assessed. Up to 20 points.Candidates with the highest scores in the previous items who have obtained at least 5 points (only the top three candidates) will be interviewed. Failure to attend the interview will be grounds for the exclusion of the summoned candidate. Candidates will be called for the interview with at least 48 hours' notice.When the assessment of the applicants, according to the above criteria, concludes that two or more aspirants obtain the same score, the tie will be resolved by how old the provided merits are. For such a purpose, the merits provided by the aspirants will be ordered in chronological order, giving priority to the older merits. First, and only for the purposes of this tiebreaker, a point will be assigned to each of the merits contributed by each applicant. However, for each ofthe merit sections indicated in the call, the merits provided in the last place chronologically (i.e., the most recent merits), will be assessed with zero points.The waiting list will include the non-selected candidates ranked according to their scores from the previous criteria, excluding the score yielded in the personal interview. Candidates will need to attain the minimum score required to be hired in this call.
