Job Description

MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN – HASSELT

MISSION

The Maintenance Technician coordinates all maintenance and calibration activities at the Hasselt site.

The main objectives of the position are to:

- Ensure that all equipment is correctly registered as a company asset
- Ensure that all equipment has valid calibration or maintenance dates
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date calibration and maintenance plans for all equipment at the Hasselt site

POSITION WITHIN THE ORGANISATION

The Maintenance Technician is part of the Industrial Means Maintenance and Industrial Infrastructure teams.

The person reports hierarchically to the Hasselt Site Manager and regularly reports maintenance, metrology and calibration progress to the relevant Maintenance and Industrial Infrastructure teams.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintenance and calibration management

- Establish, obtain validation for and manage the site’s metrology and maintenance plans
- Organise and monitor the metrology, calibration and maintenance of all equipment at the Hasselt site
- Work closely with the Industrial Means Maintenance and Industrial Infrastructure teams
- Ensure that all maintenance and calibration activities are completed within the required deadlines
- Monitor calibration KPIs and ensure that the Hasselt site meets the company’s targets
- Monitor the overall condition and reliability of all equipment at the Hasselt site
- Coordinate repair interventions with suppliers in the event of sudden or unexpected equipment failure

Equipment and asset management

- Ensure that all equipment and tooling is correctly registered as a company asset
- Keep the CMMS and calibration databases accurate and up to date for all equipment and tooling
- Ensure that all equipment has a valid calibration or maintenance sticker
- Ensure that all equipment has the correct asset registration code
- Initiate the appropriate process when an equipment registration code, maintenance sticker or calibration sticker is missing
- Coordinate with manufacturers, service companies, the Industrial Means Maintenance team and the Industrial Infrastructure team to obtain the required registration or identification
- Maintain complete traceability of maintenance and calibration activities
- Communicate all relevant maintenance information to the appropriate internal teams
- Archive all maintenance reports in the company’s reference and document management system

Supplier and service-provider coordination

- Act as the main interface with equipment manufacturers and service companies
- Organise the calibration, maintenance, diagnostic and repair of site equipment
- Follow the company’s purchasing procedures to order:
- Technical investigations
- Repair interventions
- Maintenance interventions
- Tools
- Basic parts
- Consumables
- Welcome and supervise manufacturers, suppliers and external technicians during their interventions at the Hasselt site
- Ensure that all external interventions comply with the site’s safety rules




- Monitor ongoing interventions and follow up with the relevant suppliers and service providers

Technical interventions and continuous improvement

- Carry out small repairs when required and when authorised by:
- The equipment manufacturer
- The Industrial Infrastructure team
- The Hasselt Site Manager
- Support the Tool Engineer with:
- Ordering activities
- Manufacturing basic parts
- Tooling activities
- Frame assembly
- Assess and propose improvements to the site’s equipment
- Identify opportunities to:
- Reduce maintenance costs
- Improve efficiency
- Save energy
- Reduce environmental impact

Workshop, tooling and consumable management

- Organise the workshop area and ensure that it remains clean, safe and orderly
- Organise and manage the site’s workshop tools
- Manage tooling and consumable stocks
- Monitor stock levels
- Identify the need for additional tools and consumables
- Propose and order new tools and consumables after receiving approval from the Site Manager

Facility and cleanroom monitoring

- Carry out a morning inspection of the Hasselt facilities using a predefined checklist
- Participate in Gemba Walks in the cleanroom and workshop
- Pay particular attention to:
- Equipment condition
- Calibration validity dates
- Maintenance validity dates
- Monitor all site alarms
- Monitor the conditions of the ISO 8 cleanroom
- Alert the Industrial Infrastructure team if an alarm is triggered
- Carry out small authorised interventions to help restore normal conditions following an alarm

Meetings, reporting and site support

- Participate in relevant internal meetings when maintenance or calibration topics need to be discussed
- Participate in the regular progress meetings of the Industrial Means Maintenance and Industrial Infrastructure teams
- Regularly report on metrology, calibration and maintenance progress
- Support the Site Manager and the site management team with all maintenance-related priorities and initiatives
- Maintain close daily contact with production teams
- Work closely with different departments, including:
- Procurement
- Supply Chain
- Quality
- Human Resources
- Finance
- Engineering
- Other relevant technical and operational departments

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

- Approximately two years of experience in a position with a similar scope of responsibilities
- Previous experience in an industrial environment is strongly preferred

REQUIRED TECHNICAL AND IT SKILLS

- Very good knowledge of TRESCAL
- Very good knowledge of ADVESO
- Very good knowledge of CMMS databases
- Very good knowledge of Wach
- Very good knowledge of Blueshop
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Good knowledge of ECM





LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

- Fluent Dutch is mandatory
- Professional English is an asset
- Basic French is an asset

USEFUL CERTIFICATIONS

- BA5 electrical safety certification
- Forklift certification

Budget

- Management and follow-up of an annual budget of approximately €200,000 for tooling and consumables

LOCATION AND TRAVEL

- The position is primarily based at the Hasselt site
- Regular one-day trips to Charleroi can be planned

PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

Performance will mainly be measured through maintenance and calibration KPIs, including:

- Percentage of equipment with overdue calibration
- Number of days by which equipment calibration is overdue
- Compliance with maintenance and calibration plans
- General equipment availability and maintenance progress
