We are looking for a Propulsion AIT Engineer to lead the physical integration, assembly, verification, and test campaigns of propulsion systems and associated fluid/gas subsystems. You will work in a dynamic, high-tech environment in the Canary Islands, ensuring hardware meets operational requirements through rigorous quality control.Tips: Provide a summary of the role, what success in the position looks like, and how this role fits into the organization overall.

Responsibilities

Integration and Verification: Lead the mechanical assembly, piping, and electrical integration of propulsion subsystems and pressurized fluid/gas lines.

Test Management: Plan, define, and execute functional and environmental test campaigns (leak/tightness tests, pressure/pneumatic testing, ignition sequences, and flow characterization).

Analysis and Troubleshooting: Apply analytical skills to troubleshoot integrated fluidic and mechanical components. Investigate root causes (RCA) and collaborate actively with the R&D; team to implement solutions.

Documentation and Change Management: Generate test procedures (AIT procedures) and test reports, and maintain full traceability of propulsion hardware.

Continuous Improvement and Infrastructure: Specify, design, and optimize mechanical and electrical ground support equipment (MGSE/EGSE) and fluid test benches.

Academic Background and Qualifications:

University degree (Bachelor's): Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent.

Experience and Knowledge:

2+ years of professional experience in systems integration, advanced manufacturing,

complex hardware testing, or maintenance in high-tech, high-demand environments.

Experience working in multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, propulsion, thermofluids, electronics, and controls).

Strong analytical foundation for interpreting manufacturing drawings, P&ID;, electrical schematics, and CAD interfaces.

Hands-on experience with instrumentation, data acquisition, pressure sensors, flow meters, and temperature sensors, as well as handling high-pressure components and cleanroom environments.

Desirable Experience and Skills:

Prior experience in the space sector (hot/cold gas propulsion systems, mono/bipropellant thrusters, or pressurized fluid management with helium/nitrogen).

Experience in highly regulated or complex industries (chemical/petrochemical, high-pressure industrial sector, robotics, automotive, or medical devices).

Proficiency with 3D CAD software (CATIA, SolidWorks, NX) for interface review and tooling/MGSE design.

Knowledge of space test and quality standards (ECSS or equivalent).

Systems-level thinking: ability to assess the impact of anomalies at the propulsion subsystem level.

Personal Values and Competencies

Proactivity and Flexibility: Ability to adapt to a fast-paced development environment with tight deadlines and shifting priorities.

Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to clearly communicate technical findings.

Initiative: Consistently identifies areas for improvement and safety in fluid/gas testing.

Learning Ability: Technical curiosity to master specific aspects of thermodynamics, cavitating fluid dynamics, and fluid/gas handling safety.
