Role Description

Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Backend Engineer to join their team. As a core part of backend development, you will build and maintain a scalable, microservices-based architecture. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy robust backend systems, ensuring optimal performance and responsiveness.

Responsibilities include implementing business logic, integrating databases and third-party services, optimizing performance and security, and collaborating with front-end and product teams to deliver reliable features. The role also involves troubleshooting production issues, writing clean and testable code, participating in code reviews, and contributing to continuous improvement of development processes and architecture.

Qualifications

- 5+ years of experience in backend development, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality, scalable solutions.
- Strong, hands-on programming skills with a focus on Python
- Strong skills in Back-End Web Development and Programming to build and maintain robust server-side applications.
- Experience in Software Development, including designing, implementing, testing, and deploying production-ready solutions.




- Proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles for creating modular, maintainable, and reusable code.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Front-End Development teams to integrate APIs and ensure seamless user experiences.
- Knowledge of common back-end languages and frameworks (e.g., Java, C#, Python, Node.js, or similar) and RESTful API design.
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, query optimization, and data modeling.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and modern software development practices (CI/CD, code reviews, testing).
- Understanding of security best practices, performance optimization, and scalable system design.
- Ability to work on-site in Barcelona, communicate clearly with cross-functional teams, and manage tasks independently.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience is preferred.
